Current Discipleship Classes

Discipleship Classes beginning Wednesday, January 16th, at 6:30 PM

Ephesus provides a number of opportunities for adults to grow spiritually on Wednesday evenings.  We encourage you to commit to one of the group studies listed below.  Some only last a few weeks, and are a great way to get a feel for what happens at Ephesus on Wednesdays beginning August 17th.

Gospel of Mark

The Gospel of Mark chronicles Jesus’s journey from Galilee to Jerusalem. Along the way, the Messiah gathers a ragged band of disciples. As crowds grow and dwindle on the road to Jerusalem, only a few sticks by the Suffering Savior on the road of discipleship. In this series, we will trace the steps of Jesus and the Twelve through Israel, explore the major themes of the Gospel of Mark, and asks: Are we willing to take this journey to embrace discipleship?  This series works hand-in-hand with RightNow Media's The Gospel of Mark Study. Verse By Verse

The Revelation A verse by verse study on the book of Revelation.  Join us in a time of prayer and Bible study each Wednesday evening.  This study will reconvene when Al Pierce is back from sick leave.  For now, those interested in this study should consider taking part in the study of the Gospel of Mark led by Matthew Isennock.

Al Pierce, teacher / 6:30PM / room 207 (will reconvene TBA)

MantoMan

Part II or a continuation of the current study of the classic, Pilgrim’s Progress.  This study is for men only.  Men are encouraged to join Pastor Billy on Wednesday evenings for this study.  John Bunyan wrote Pilgrim’s Progress when he was imprisoned for his faith in the 1600s, but it still stands as one of the greatest Christian books ever written.  It is a moving allegory that illuminates the Biblical teaching of the Christian life as a journey.

Billy Godwin, teacher / modular unit #3

God of Covenant by Jen Wilkin (for women only)

Why should we study the Book of Genesis? Because we think we already know it. Its stories are familiar to us. Many

times we encountered them when we were children. But often, we have not taken a look at the big story of Genesis and

asked questions about how that story shapes the whole story of the Bible. Genesis is the seed plot in the Bible, the place

where all of the seeds of the stories of the Bible that are going to be carried throughout it are planted. Come take a closer

look than we've had time for in Lifegroup and discover the truth of the Savior sewn into the soil of our faith from the

very beginning, from the Genesis.

Cheryl Thrash, facilitator / modular unit #1 / 10 sessions / cost $10
